"Basketball Wives" star Evelyn Lozada is demanding officials investigate a family she believes sold her sick dogs after a pair of puppies the reality star got for her son became gravely ill.

On November 24, Lozada bought two Maltipoo puppies from a breeder named Jezriel Kenney after responding to an online posting. At the time, Lozada was looking for dogs for her son, Leo.

The two maltipoos that Lozada picked out were later delivered to her by the woman. We're told since the dogs' arrival, they have been extremely lethargic and unable to control their bowels. After a trip to the vet, we're told the animals were discovered to have parasites and needed urgent treatment.

In the past week, we're told both dogs have been taken to the vet multiple times for health-related issues.

To make matters worse, our sources say after Evelyn gave the dogs a bath, she discovered their fur had been dyed brown and the actual color of the animals were white.

We're told the reality star has reached back out to the breeder to complain, but the woman is allegedly denying any responsibility for the situation and refusing to help out with expenses.

We're told Evelyn was also informed that the breeder's father, a man named Rick Kenney, was once arrested after the Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley executed a search warrant on his home after receiving complaints that he was selling sick puppies online. Officials found over a dozen sick animals when they entered his home.

The breeder's mother, Trina Kenney, has also been in trouble — she was sentenced to two years in prison after being convicted of selling sick horses. We're told it appears the daughter has followed in the footsteps of her nefarious parents.

Sources close to Lozada tell us she is furious with the woman for selling her the sick dogs and is currently in the process of contacting a detective to investigate the matter further.

We're told the reality star is concerned more families could be scammed, especially during the holidays.

Attempts to contact the Kenneys have been unsuccessful.
