Eric Bolling‘s son, Eric Chase, died on Friday in Colorado. He was 19 and his passing comes on the same day Bolling was let go from Fox News.
Bolling tweeted about his son’s passing, writing, “Adrienne and I are devastated by the loss of our beloved son Eric Chase last night. Details still unclear. Thoughts, prayers appreciated.”
A spokesperson from Fox News confirmed Eric Chase’s death in a statement to The Blast, saying, “We are very saddened to hear of the passing of Eric Bolling’s son. Eric Chase was a wonderful young man and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Bolling family.”
No further information on his death was available.
Bolling’s former Fox News co-worker, Sean Hannity, was among those in the media who tweeted their condolences to Bolling and his family.
Fox News Channel released a statement on Friday saying Bolling’s show was canceled and they were parting “amicably” with him. They added, “We thank Eric for his ten years of service to our loyal viewers and wish him the best of luck.”
A report on the Huffington Post last month claimed Bolling has been accused by at least two former colleagues of sending lewd text messages. Bolling sued the journalist who wrote the story, Yashar Ali, for $50 million. Ironically, it was Ali who first broke the news of the passing of Bolling’s son.
