Drew Carey's ex-fiance, sex therapist Amie Harwick, died without a will and now her parents have filed legal documents to control her 1.4 Million dollar estate.

According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Tom Allen Harwick and Penelope Arlene Harwick filed probate documents in Los Angeles County Court asking a judge to give them powers as executors of Amie's estate.

In the filing, they say Harwick died without a will, and by law, they are the beneficiaries of her estate.

Amie's parents say she had 135,000 of personal property and owned 1,365,000 of real property, which is most likely the real estate she owned in L.A.

Tom and Penelope are residents of Lansdale, PA the place where their daughter was laid to rest. As we reported, Drew Carey paid his last respects to his ex-fiance attending a funeral in her hometown.

At this point, all that is needed is a judge's signature to confirm her parents will be in charge of her affairs.

On February 15, 2020, Amie Harwick was found dead after allegedly being thrown off of her 3rd story balcony after a fight with her ex-boyfriend. According to LAPD, they responded to the therapist's home after reports of a "woman screaming" came in through a 911 call.

According to law enforcement, there was evidence of a struggle inside of Harwick's home, as well as some sort of forced entry.

Amie's ex-boyfriend, Gareth Pursehouse, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder after police say he was responsible for her going over the balcony. He is being held inside an L.A. County jail cell after prosecutors say he was 'lying in wait' when Harwick entered the home.

As we reported, Harwick had filed several restraining orders against Pursehouse over the years, claiming he was abusive and she had been the victim of domestic violence. She claimed her ex "choked me, suffocated me, pushed me against walls, kicked me, dropped me to the ground with force...slammed my head into the ground, and punched me with a closed fist."

Drew Carey was engaged to Harwick, but the couple split last year after only a short period of time. He issued a statement following her death, saying, “Amie and I had a love that people are lucky to have once in a lifetime. She was a positive force in the world, a tireless and unapologetic champion for women, and passionate about her work as a therapist. I am overcome with grief. I would like to thank you in advance for giving myself and everyone who loved Amie privacy while we try to work through this tragic situation.”
