Drake is showing off the years of work that went into his custom-built Toronto mansion, where his bedroom is bigger than most homes.
The rapper graces the cover of the May issue of Architectural Digest. Drake looks extra fly while standing next to a grand piano in his MASSIVE great room which features 44 feet ceilings. Drake has nicknamed his estate “The Embassy”.
The music mogul worked with interior designer Ferris Rafauli to custom-build the 50,000 compound. The property includes such amenities as an NBA regulation-size indoor basketball court and 3,200 sq. ft. master bedroom.
Architectural Digest shared exclusive photos of the pad writing, “Mega recording artist Drake (@champagnepapi) returned to his hometown of Toronto to once again plant roots there, building a 50,000-square-foot ultra-luxe pleasure dome. The stately manor, as envisioned by Canadian designer @ferrisrafauli, is a marvel of old-world craftsmanship, constructed of limestone, bronze, exotic woods, and other noble materials.”
“Because I was building it in my hometown, I wanted the structure to stand firm for 100 years. I wanted it to have a monumental scale and feel. It will be one of the things I leave behind, so it had to be timeless and strong,” Drake said.
Drake told AD, “It’s overwhelming high luxury. That message is delivered through the size of the rooms and the materials and details of the floors and the ceilings. I wanted to make sure people can see the work I’ve put in over the years reflected from every vantage point.”
The rapper revealed his favorite room in the house is his 3,200 sq. ft. master-bedroom which includes an “additional 1,100 square feet of covered terraces.”
Drake said, “The bedroom is where I come to decompress from the world at the end of the night and where I open my eyes to seize the day. The bed lets you float, the shower lets you escape and gather your thoughts, and the closet makes you want to talk to yourself while you’re getting dressed.”
Drake built a two-story closet which showcases his “extensive wardrobe, sneaker collection, and the array of precious Hermès Birkin bags that he has been amassing for years.” The rapper originally purchased the land he built the home on for $6.7 million, which is located in the exclusive Bridle Path neighborhood.
As The Blast previously reported, Drake has been holed up in his Toronto mansion while in isolation.
