Dr. Dre Battling Wife Nicole Young Over Prenup In $800 Million Divorce

By Ryan Naumann

Dr. Dre is gearing up for war in his divorce battle with his estranged wife Nicole Young.

According to reports, Dr. Dre has officially responded to Nicole’s petition for divorce. The music mogul is being represented by powerhouse attorney Laura Wasser.

In his response, Dre revealed the two had a prenuptial agreement and he wants the terms followed. Nicole failed to mention a prenup in her original petition. She is asking the court for spousal support and a division of their marital property.

Dre believes Nicole is entitled to spousal support but says the distribution of property is covered by the prenuptial agreement. Child support is not an issue since their kids are adults.

The music mogul listed the date of separation as March 27, 2020, weeks into the pandemic.

As The Blast previously reported, earlier this month, Nicole filed for divorce seeking to end her 24 years marriage to Dr. Dre. Many people believed at the time the couple did not sign a prenuptial agreement prior to their wedding.

Dr. Dre and Nicole were married on May 25, 1996 and share two kids, daughter Truly and son Truice. The two showed no sign of troubles in the months prior. Back in February, the two walked the red carpet together at the Tom Ford AW20 Show. Dr. Dre and Nicole held hands while posing for the cameras. The two have maintained a solid relationship for decades.

The two had $60 million real estate portfolio. Back in 2014, Dr Dre and Nicole purchased Tom Brady’s 5-bedroom, 9-bathroom Brentwood estate for $50 million. In June 2019, Dr. Dre purchased a $2.25 million mansion in a gated Pacific Palisades community. The 4-bedroom, 4-bathroom, 3,102 sq. ft. property sits on 2 acres.

Nicole has yet to speak publicly about her split from Dre.
