Dove actually got her tribute tattoo on camera during a 'day in the life' video by Vogue. Her tattoo is of a revolver with a single rose sticking out of the barrel and she explained that she is very pro-gun regulation. She said the tattoo is a commonly recognized anti-gun violence symbol that alines with Boyce's sentiment.

"My friend Cameron passed away a few months ago," Dove told the camera, "and he was starting this organization called Wield In Peace."

She continued, "He wanted to get influential people holding things that sort of looked like they were in the shape of a gun but then it would be something artistic or peaceful. He did it with a bouquet of flowers actually."

The star broke down in tears while reading a letter she wrote to Cameron after he passed. She admitted to speaking extensively with her therapist after the tragic loss. By writing down her thoughts and sharing them with the world, she was able to find what closure she could but the journey is still not easy.

“I’ve been unsuccessful thinking about trying to summarize something where there are no adequate words in the English language,” Dove explained at the time. "I’ve been mostly quiet or expressive through crying. I’ve never stuttered and unable to speak before these last few days. My system is still in shock, my brain is still foggy and full of holes.”

Now that she has her new project with his charity, she feels like she is honoring the late star's legacy.
