Dove Cameron plays the social media game in her own way and while she did not directly address her ex-fiancé, Ryan McCartan's cheating allegation, she alluded to it with a cryptic retweet on Thursday night.

McCartan revealed that one of his proudest moments was when he was able to survive the heartbreak of his fiancée cheating on him in 2016. He did not mention Dove by name but hey, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to make the conclusion he was talking about the "Descendants" star.

Hours later Dove retweeted a picture that seemed to refer to Ryan's allegation.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words but in Dove's case, the picture she retweeted had a bunch of words on it already. A fan sent the pic and it featured a lengthy message written on a whiteboard.

"When a toxic person can no longer control you, they will try to control how others see you," the fan's picture read. "The misinformation will feel unfair, but stay above it, trusting that other people will eventually see the truth, just like you did."

Dove retweeted it and simply wrote, "beautiful."

Dove and Ryan were previously engaged but called it off in 2016. Fans were left stunned but apparently Ryan was the most shocked of all. McCartan was answering questions via Instagram on Thursday when a fan asked him what his proudest moment was? His answer revealed relationship issues with Dove that he has never publicly discussed.

"Within two weeks, my fiancée cheated on and left me, I almost died from food poisoning, and Donald Trump was elected president," Ryan wrote. "I truly didn't think I would be able to make it through that part of my life. I'm proudest of the light that came from that darkness, and my ability to survive and turn the anger and sadness I had into positive life changes and a new way forward."

It is pretty safe to assume he is speaking about Dove because they broke up in 2016 and President Trump was elected around the same exact time.

Dove is not letting the petty cheating allegations get her down. In fact, she shared a statement to her Instagram story detailing how she has not felt this good in a long time.

"this new decade,2020 specifically, and my 24th year feels so synergistic and perfect, i can't even put it into words," Dove began her message to fans. "it's been years since i've felt this good, this capable, this strong and this connected, in general and in terms of my relationship with myself.

She continued, "i've been so disillusioned and lost, so dark and so sad, and i only now feel like i'm beginning to find the magic again. that place where i'm not agraid of what used to leave me frozen in agonizing fear, where i can finally feel safe to lean on only myself and be whole and complete within my own skin."

"it has been, and will continue to be a long road with the work solely in my own hands, and i always leave room for more growth and connection with my higher self (and therapy), but i suddenly feel 'it' again. somthing old, but something new. the difference in energy is staggering. this is fresh. i feel like i'm ready to start showing up for life again."
