President Donald Trump attended the Army vs. Navy football game and unlike some of his other appearances, in this crowd, he received a standing ovation.
Trump walked onto Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia before the game started to take part in the game’s coin toss. Trump was given a very warm reception from the crowd.
The yearly rivalry game was the 120th meeting between the Military Academy at West Point and the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis.
Navy won 31-7, but it was the President’s appearance that made the biggest news…
As you can imagine, Trump is the commander-in-chief, and many in attendance are part of the armed forces. But, Trump has faced some boo birds at other events, so it was unclear what might happen in today’s game.
A video, posted on Twitter, shows the crowd going nuts for the President and launching into a “U.S.A” chant as he waves to the crowd.

“If anyone tries to tell you that President @realDonaldTrump
was not welcome at the #ArmyNavyGame – show them this: The Commander-in-Chief arriving at his seat during the break. Spontaneous, stadium-wide applause & roars from a crowd for POTUS ??Ya won’t see this angle on TV!” the person captioned the video.
Depending on the media outlet you are watching, Trump’s latest appearances at the World Series and other events have been heavily argued on if or not he gets booed upon his arrival.
This is the President’s third time attending the game, and the POTUS spent one half on Army’s side and the other half on Navy’s side.
Trump also visited both teams in their respective locker rooms to wish them luck before the game. During the visit, Trump announced to the team, his administration was changing the rules on military athletes needing to serve their country before playing professional sports.
President Trump has directed the Department of Defense to change the rule so players seeking to play professionally an get a service waiver.
Donald Trump made an appearance at UFC 244 alongside both of his sons. Trump was on hand to watch Jorge Masvidal battle Nate Diaz, and an argument online started over if the POTUS was booed or cheered when he arrived.
A few videos recorded by several fans, seem to back up the statement that it wasn’t the greatest reception.
“Trump got the welcome he deserved today as he was greeted by protesters outside MSG and with loud boos inside as he entered for #UFC244,” one person tweeted.
But, others said UFC’s original broadcast of the event showed people cheering for him.
UFC 245 is tonight, maybe he will make a second appearance!
