Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman has a message for all those people out there who have had struggles within their family, and his point is clear…never give up on your loved ones!
Dog The Bounty Hunter took to Instagram to share a message about the definition of family, along with advice on how to keep your family together and happy.
The quote shared by Dog starts with the definition, “Family isn’t defined only by last names or by blood; it’s defined by commitment and by love. It means showing up when they need it most. It means having each other’s backs.”
The next part of the statement hits very close to home for the Chapman family who has had its issues since the matriarch of the family, Beth Chapman, passed away.
“It means choosing the love each other even on those days when you struggle to like each other. It means never giving up on each other!” the message read.
As we reported, Dog recently reunited with his estranged daughter, Baby Lyssa, after the two had issues for quite some time.
The two met up inside of a Hawaiian rehab facility where Dog had arrived for a speaking engagement. The father and daughter team posed for a few photos, where it was clear they are happy to be back on speaking terms. Dog captioned one of the shots, “with @mslyssac and Maddie at @habilitat Hawaii yesterday what a great visit we had. thanks to Habilitat Hawaii.”
Issues between Dog and Lyssa hit its tipping point when her dad’s relationship with longtime assistant Moon Angel went public.
“If someone who met your family by dating your brother, tried to date your father after your step- mom died what would you do ? If you went to your mothers closet and saw she moved all her clothes and replaced them with her own, what would you do ? #ItsNotWhenOrWhyItsWho,” Lyssa said at the time in a now deleted tweet.
She continued, “You’re a disgusting woman. Any person who moves in on a man weeks after losing his wife, who you were supposed to be a ‘friend’ to, Is the lowest scum on the planet-Which for you wasn’t that far of a step down from where you were before. God will get you MARY !!!”
Dog’s other daughter, Bonnie, responded to his post with a simple answer, “Love you.” Several fans sent Dog supportive messages, agreeing with his thoughts about family and friends.
“True and family is like music, some high notes, some low notes, but always a beautiful song. ? stay safe,” one person wrote.
Another added, “Been watching your show for years you’ve done a lot of good for a lot of people thank you.”
A few fans even shared their own struggles and let Dog know he was helping them through their own tough times.
