Just days after David Ortiz was released from Massachusetts General Hospital, the future Hall of Famer is speaking out while chowing down.

Big Papi went on to express his gratitude for the Red Sox ownership.

“My deep appreciation goes to John and Linda Henry, Tom Werner, Sam Kennedy and the entire Red Sox organization for arranging the Red Sox plane that took me back to Boston from Santo Domingo and their continuing assistance to me and my family,” Ortiz wrote.

“I am feeling good but know I need to do my rehab just like I did when I was recovering from injuries playing baseball,” and he added, “Big Papi will be back soon.”

Big Papi is making sure he eats well during his recovery, and shared some photos of a delicious looking feast he was cooking up.

The former Red Sox player posted photos of a steak, a bowl of tortellini and a delicious looking cooked fish.

Ortiz was sitting at an outdoor bar with friends last month in Santo Domingo when he was shot in the back by a would-be assassin on a motorcycle in an apparent case of mistaken identity.

The MLB star had his gallbladder removed and part of his intestine during emergency surgery following the shooting.
