Danny Trejo was in the right place at the right time and helped save a toddler from a car wreck.
Trejo, known for many roles including “Sons of Anarchy” and “Mayans M.C.,” turned into a first responder when two cars collided near him in California on Wednesday.
The “Machete” star says that one car ran a red light, smashing into another vehicle and then flipping over onto its hood. Trejo rushed over to help and found a two-year-old special needs child trapped in the car seat.
The 75-year-old actor and another bystander sprang into action and were able to undo the seatbelt and safely pull the child from the car.
Meanwhile, the toddler’s grandmother was still trapped. So while firefighters worked to rescue her, Trejo helped keep the boy calm:
“He was panicked. I said OK we have to use our superpowers. So he screamed ‘superpowers’ and we started yelling ‘superpowers.” I said do this, with the muscles. He said ‘muscles.'”
“We got kind of a bond. I kept facing him away from the accident.”
No one involved was seriously hurt.
As news of the incident became public, fans online lost it.
