DaBaby is accusing a music video model of attempting to shake him down for money,

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, DaBaby and South Coast Music Group have filed a lawsuit against Marjorie Guaracho.

Back in September 2019, DaBaby hired a production company to produce a music video for “Vibez”. The video was filmed on September 27, 2019 in Miami, Florida.

The production company hired a casty company to find background performers to appear in the video. The defendant, Marjorie Guaracho, was one of the women hired to perform in the background. DaBaby says Guaracho was informed of the video concept, signed a release and was paid $100.

DaBaby says the video featured more than 40 girls and Guaracho appeared for less than 2 seconds.

In January, Guaracho fired off a cease and desist letter to DaBaby’s label Interscope accusing them of stealing her performance and demanding punitive damages and attorney fees. In the legal letter, the model accuses DaBaby using footage of her to make it appear she “endorses pornography.” She says she was “shocked” after seeing the final music video. She estimated her damages to be in excess of $75,000.

The rapper accuses the money of breach of contract and tortious interference. He accuses the women of having “breached her obligations under the release by the action described herein by making false claims to Interscope.”

DaBaby says he plans to continue distributing the music video. He is suing demanding the court order the model signed away her rights and for unspecified damages against Guaracho.
