The driver in the car crash that killed YouTube celebrity Corey La Barrie is being charged with murder.

Los Angeles resident and tattoo artist Daniel Silva has been arrested and charged with murder, according to a release from the Los Angeles Police Department.

People writes that La Barrie had about 200,000 followers on Instagram and about 330,000 YouTube subscribers.

The accident happened on May 10, La Barrie's 25th birthday.

Reports say that he and the driver, Silva, had left a birthday bash for La Barrie, a YouTube star.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department's press release, Silva was confirmed to be the driver in the fatal crash. Silva apparently lost control of the 2020 McLaren, then hit a tree and a stop sign:

"On Sunday, May 10, 2020, around 9:39 p.m., a 2020 McLaren 600LT was traveling eastbound on Huston Street at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control. Driver then ran off the road and collided with a stop sign and a tree on the northeast corner of Huston Street and Carpenter Avenue."

According to the press release, Silva allegedly tried to flee after the crash, but was stopped by bystanders:

"The driver of the McLaren exited the vehicle and attempted to leave the scene but was stopped by citizens who came to render aid. No other vehicles were involved in the collision."

An injured Silva was photographed being transported from the scene by the "Los Angeles Daily News." La Barrie was also transported to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Silva appeared on Season 10 of "Ink Masters," a competition series.

La Barrie's brother, Jarrad La Barrie, wrote a memorial to Corey on Twitter.

"This isn't something I thought I would ever have to sit here and type out for a very long time or what I wanna do right now but everyone deserves to know, my brother Corey passed away last night in a car accident with his drunk friend driving... this is the hardest thing I've ever had to do I don't know how I'm supposed to do this without you I miss you so much already this isn't fair.

Thank you for always being the best big brother I could ask for I love you so f------ much life's never gonna be the same without you R.I.P. P.S. say hit to grandad and grandma for me I love you."

People posted remembrances of La Barrie on Twitter.

"We lost a really good person a couple nights ago, his name was Corey La Barrie. His family started a gofundme, please consider helping them in this time of need. Thanks guys. Hug your friends today," wrote @zane.
