Coachella Fans Freak Out After Festival Gets Postponed Over Coronavirus: 'Throw The Whole Festival Away'

Hell hath no fury like a Coachella fan scorned! It's official... the most famous music festival in the United States has postponed till October due to Coronavirus concerns but fans are not taking the news well.

On Wednesday, Golden Voice announced that The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, originally scheduled for the weekends of April 10th through the 12th and 17th through the 19th, will be moved to the weekends of October 9th and 16th. The news comes one day after the Los Angeles Times reported three confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Coachella Valley.

" At the direction of the County of Riverside and local health authorities, we must sadly confirm the rescheduling of Coachella and Stagecoach due to COVID-19 concerns," Golden Voice's official statement read. "While this decision comes at a time of universal uncertainty, we take the safety and health of our guests, staff and community very seriously. We urge everyone to follow the guidelines and protocols put forth by public health officials."

"Coachella will not take place on October 9, 10 and 11 and October 16, 17 and 18, 2020. Stagecoach will take place on October 23, 24 and 25, 2020. All purchases for the April dates will be honored for the rescheduled October dates. Purchasers will be notified by Friday, March 13 on how to obtain a refund if they are unable to attend."

"Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you in the desert this fall."

Fans Are Not Happy

The official announcement was made on all of the festivals social media and their millions of followers were... let's just say, less than pleased.

"WE COULD HAVE JUST WASHED OUR HANDS," one angry fan stated, while another said, "I think this is awful. We know the risk. I’m willing to take it."

"Where’s the dislike button," an Instagram user asked.

"I’m not crying you’re crying," a heartbroken user commented.

Several people were upset over the news because their reservations and plane tickets have already been set for April.

"what about my hotel reservations with a $900 cancellation????" an angry fan demanded, and another said, "there goes my $800 plane ticket down the drain."

"Throw the whole festival away," one fan finally concluded.

There were a few followers that seemed excited about the postponement. "We love a cooler temperature festival! Let’s make it Halloween themed!" one positive thinking fan said," while another joked, "Phew, thank god! My Coachella bod wasnt ready."

Fans Demand Frank Ocean

The current line-up features headliners Rage Against the Machine, Travis Scott, and Frank Ocean. The third of which has a very active fan base and they sounded off in the comments section of Coachella's announcement on Instagram.

"WILL FRANK STILL BE THERE??!!" one user commented, while another wrote, "Damn guess we never getting a frank ocean performance ever again."

"please confirm frank ocean tho 🥺."

"Just get frank to play a free show and call it a day," one user suggested as a solution to for the whole ordeal.

The real tragedy is all the likes the Instagram models will miss out on because now they have to think of other ideas for content during the month of April.
