‘Mad Men’ Star Christina Hendricks has already settled her divorce with husband Geoffrey Arend, and based on new legal documents it seems the couple has been quietly negotiating it for quite some time.
According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Hendricks and Arend have already settled their divorce and filed the agreement with the court on December 16.
This coming only several days after the actress filed for divorce, which appears to show the couple hashed out a financial agreement before filing for divorce.
In the divorce filing, Hendricks says the couple separated on April 19, 2019, giving them plenty of time to go over their financial situation and hash out any disagreements.
The ex-couple was married in 2009 and shared no children together. So, in this case, the only custody details to be decided on is that of their pets.
Christina addressed co-parenting their dogs in her statement announcing the couple had split after 10 years of marriage.
“Twelve years ago we fell in love and became partners. We joined our two amazing families, had countless laughs, made wonderful friends and were blessed with incredible opportunities,” Hedricks said.
She continued, “Today we take our next step together but on separate paths. We will always be grateful for the love we’ve shared and always work together to raise our two beautiful dogs. We will be taking time to rediscover ourselves in this transition and we thank you for your patience and support in giving us the space to do so.”
As in many other celebrity cases, most couples enter into a prenuptial agreement to keep their individual money separate. But, during a marriage “community property” is earned and is needed to be split up amongst the couple.
In some cases, this will include the home that they share, or movies or television shows they did while married.
Christina starred as Joan Holloway in “Mad Men” television series from 2007-2015. She also played the character Gabby Gabby in “Toy Story 4.” Arend is famous for his role in “Super Troopers.”
According to reports, the couple met through one of Hendricks’s “Madman” co-star Vincent Kartheiser.
It’s unclear if any money changed hands in the settlement.
