Christie Brinkley is trying to silence all the naysayers who doubted she suffered a real injury on “Dancing With the Stars” by showing off the gruesome photos.
The 65-year-old supermodel spoke out Friday morning on Instagram, sharing multiple photos of her hospital stay and treatment after breaking her arm during dance rehearsals.
Many fans, including talk show host Wendy Williams, who claims Brinkley is a “personal friend,” believe the star faked her injury in order to fast track her 21-year-old daughter, Sailor Brinkley Cook, onto the ABC competition.
Along with the injury photos, Brinkley penned a statement explaining her reason for being so transparent:
“It goes against my better judgement to acknowledge haters and conspiracy theorists but because this involves my precious daughter I’m setting the record straight. It’s sad that we live in a time where the truth is not as scintillating as hurtful lies. If it was just me I would have let this roll right off my back, but on #nationaldaughtersday I feel it’s the perfect opportunity to stand up for truth.”
She also thanked Sailor for, “being such an amazing daughter for overcoming your fears to step in I’m so proud of you! But I STILL want my favorite jeans back!”
It also doesn’t appear Brinkley has made up with Wendy, as the former “DWTS” contestant appeared on “The Talk” this week and admitted, “”Wendy Williams started this rumor, which was stunning to me because I’ve been on Wendy’s show a couple of times.”
Hell hath no fury like a supermodel scorned!
Meanwhile, Sailor and her pro partner, Valentin Chmerkovskiy have continued to impress the judges during the competition.
