A Rough Split

The break up of Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus has been one of the biggest celebrity news stories of 2019, after nearly a decade together and less than a year of marriage.

Since their break up, Hemsworth has been keeping a low profile possibly dating actress Maddison Brown. Cyrus has been very publicly dating since the split, first with Kaitlynn Carter and more recently with Australian singer Cody Simpson. Cyrus clearly has a type! While there were rumors that the couple had broken up, Simpson denied the gossip.

His Family Has His Back

Hemsworth has been laying low, spending a lot of time with his brothers in Australia. Chris Hemsworth's wife, model and Fast & Furious actress Elsa Pataky spoke about Liam's break up while at a press conference Madrid, saying:

"My brother-in-law, well…After a relationship that you've dedicated ten years to, he's a little bit down, but he's coping well, he’s a strong boy and he deserves the best. I think he deserves much better."

It's always good when your family has your back, and it sounds like Elsa is solidly #TeamLiam.

Pataky continued, explaining that Liam was really leaning on his brothers at this time.

"You always find support in your family, and he’s joined at the hip with his brother, who has been there to give all the strength he needed. He is telling me all the time to find him a Spanish girl."

Multiple sources told that Liam has "come to terms with the fact that their relationship is completely over."

"Liam needed some time to recover from the pain over this breakup, but he’s in a really good place now and is getting better each and every day. He’s solely focused on moving forward in a positive direction — and has no interest in dating, at least at this point."

Moving On

Us Weekly reports that Hemsworth "wants what’s best for her — even if it’s not him."

At the time of the split, it sounded like the possibility for an amicable separation.

"Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy."

With all of the drama that's come afterward, I can't imagine the good feelings remain. Who got custody of the dogs?
