Ellen DeGeneres is facing some serious backlash after numerous employees have come forward to describe a toxic work environment on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Terrible behavior from upper level staff seems to be the main complaint, and while Ellen Show executives have claimed that they will handle the issues brought to the fore, many aren't convinced their will be actual change.

However, while the complaints have been raised and verified by past and present employees, many are standing by DeGeneres. Her wife, Portia de Rossi posted on Instagram that she was standing by Ellen, and implied that "bot attacks" were the root cause of this "smear campaign."

Katy Perry was also an A-lister who came to Ellen's defense, claiming that she only ever had a positive experience on The Ellen Show. She wrote on Twitter:

"I know I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience besides my own but I want to acknowledge that I have only ever had positive takeaways from my time with Ellen & on the @theellenshow. I think we all have witnessed the light & continual fight for equality that she has brought to the world through her platform for decades. Sending you love & a hug, friend."

Kevin Hart also weighed in on his own experiences with DeGeneres, coming down firmly on #TeamEllen. He wrote on Instagram:

"I have known Ellen for years and I can honestly say that she's one of the dopest people on the f-cking planet. She has treated my family and team with love and respect from day 1...The internet has become a crazy world of negativity... we are falling in love with peoples down fall.

It's honestly sad... When did we get here? I stand by the ones I know and that I love. Looking forward to future where we are back to loving one another... this hate sh-t has to stop. Hopefully it goes out of style soon...."

Hart concluded by saying that he had "not meant to disregard the feelings of others and their experiences" but wanted "simply to show what my experiences have been with my friend. Love you for life Ellen."

Diane Keaton also expressed her support on Instagram, writing:

However, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star and creator Rachel Bloom pointed out on Twitter that the experiences of staff and the experiences of guests are often quite different.

"Just wanna say that I have both worked behind the scenes of tv shows and been the celebrity guest on them and the two experiences are very different. Having a good time being a guest does not necessarily have anything to do with the experiences of the employees."

"I'm not saying this to put anyone on blast, I just wanted to offer my POV as someone who's had the amazing fortune to experience both worlds."

"Also, I'm not implying that anywhere I've worked or guested on has been bad. I just know that they are two profoundly different experiences."
