Cardi B called out the Kentucky AG for mentioning Breonna Taylor’s name at the RNC but failing to bring her justice.
Earlier this week, Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron spoke at the Republican National Convention. During his speech, Cameron briefly mentioned Breonna Taylor in his speech and caused an uproar.
The fury comes from his failure to charge or arrest the three officers, Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove, involved in the shooting of Breonna Taylor. Cardi ripped into the AG for naming Breonna during his time at the RNC.
She wrote, “This is such a slap in the face .Like damn my nikka not once have you said nothing about the arrest of the officers that killed Breonna Taylor ,not once have you s shown effort of bringing justice to Breonna Taylor and here you are at the podium of the Republican conventions talkin bout justice ,America and all this bullshit. You sooo blinded by your MASTERS that you don’t even notice that their using you as a Pawn to trigger YOUR OWN KIND ! Never would they ever had you up there if you wasn’t in charge of Breonna Taylor case.”
As The Blast previously reported, countless celebrities have called for Cameron to charge the officers involved. Beyonce wrote a public letter to Cameron pleading for him to take action and bring justice for Breonna.
On March 13, 2020, 26-year-old Breonna Taylor was fatally shot by the Louisville Metro Police Department. Three plain-clothed officers executed a no-knock search warrant on her apartment in Kentucky.
As the officers broke into her apartment, Breonna’s boyfriend Kenneth Walker exchanged gunfire with officers believing they were intruders.
The police officers fired over twenty shots and eight hit Breonna. The warrant was in relation to an investigation into two men, Jamarcus Glover and Adrian Walker, suspected of selling drugs. Jamarcus was an ex-boyfriend of Breonna.
The three officers involved, Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove, have yet to be fired or face any consequences.
