The murder of George Floyd by a police officer and the ensuing riots in Minneapolis this week have been a much discussed issue on social media and beyond. Rapper Cardi B weighed in on the tragedy, opening up on Twitter about the lack of options for the people protesting Floyd's murder.

"They looting in Minnesota and as much as I don’t like this type of violence it is what it is .Too much peaceful marches,too much trending hashtags and NO SOLUTIONS! The people are left with NO CHOICE ."

Cardi B also retweeted a tweet from Fox News personality Tomi Lahren that said "How does looting, rioting and destroying your OWN community bring justice for anyone?" with a take no nonsense response.

"How does targeting, profilin,beating and murdering black men with no consequence equal serving and protecting? Who’s giving them justice and trust on cops ? Mind your business and eat your salad !"

Cardi also wrote about her sadness and exhaustion about America's persistent racism on Instagram with a post commemorating Floyd.

"Enough is enough1 What will it take? A civil war? A new president? Violent riots? I'm tired! The country is tired! You don't put fear in people when you do this you just show how coward YOU ARE! And how America is really not the land of the free!"

Cardi has a long history of using her platform as a celebrity to weigh in on political issues, and once again the "Bodak Yellow" rapper does not disappoint.

Not The First Time That She Has Gotten Political

At one point, Cardi had Bernie Sanders on her Instagram live in order to discuss his platform. Many people dismiss Cardi B due to her celebrity status, but she pointed out on Instagram that she shouldn't be discounted.

"Listen I don't talk like a CNN corespondent and I don't use all this fancy vocabulary but I do give you THE REAL while entertaining you at the same time to keep your attention on what's important. I have a platform of 62.7 million followers and yesterday my live had 133K viewers and almost a million people tuned in. I just want to bring awareness to what's going on in our country and around the world. I want to make sure all my followers are AWARE and make a CHANGE! WE HAVE THE POWER TO MAKE A CHANGE! And a special thank you to Bernie, you'll always be my favorite candidate!"

Cardi has expressed her interest in politics many times over, and even tweeted about her desire to go to school for the subject at some point.

"I do feel like if I go back to school and focus up I can be part of Congress.I deadass have sooo much ideas that make sense.I just need a couple of years of school and I can shake the table ."
