Actor Cameron Boyce, who died in July after a seizure, was omitted from the Oscars’ “In Memoriam” section on Sunday, and plenty of people took notice.
Boyce, 20, died July 6 as a result of his epilepsy.
As Popculture writes, Boyce played Carlos, in Disney’s Descendants movie franchise, but also starred in roles in “Jessie,” “Jake and the Never Land Pirates,” and “Gamer’s Guide to Pretty Much Everything.”

Other people left out this year: actor Luke Perry, and actor and musician Sid Haig.
“Shame on the Academy for not including Luke Perry, Sid Haig and Cameron Boyce in the In Memoriam segment at the #Oscars,” said @TheMoeSamir.
@welch_jodie made a good point, saying that other celebrities received notice, but not Boyce.
“Where is your memorial for Luke Perry and Cameron Boyce …Cmon you mentioned Kobe Bryant and he wasnt even a movie star ??? Shame Shame Shame,” @welch_jodie wrote.
The Boyce family’s spokesperson released a statement after Boyce’s death last year.
“It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron,” the Boyce family rep told ABC News.
“He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated. The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.
We are still trying to navigate our way through this extremely heart wrenching time, and continue to ask for privacy so that the family, and all who knew and loved him can grieve his loss and make arrangements for his funeral–which in and of itself, is agonizing.”
We are utterly heartbroken and ask for privacy during this immensely difficult time as we grieve the loss of our precious son and brother.”
The Disney Channel also released a statement, pointing out Boyce’s humanitarian efforts and his character.
“From a young age, Cameron Boyce dreamed of sharing his extraordinary artistic talents with the world. As a young man, he was fueled by a strong desire to make a difference in peoples’ lives through his humanitarian work.
He was an incredibly talented performer, a remarkably caring and thoughtful person and, above all else, he was a loving and dedicated son, brother, grandson and friend. We offer our deepest condolences to his family, cast mates and colleagues and join his many millions of fans in grieving his untimely passing. He will be dearly missed.”
