Disney star Cameron Boyce once joked about rumors of his untimely passing, unfortunately the latest news is no rumor and now the video has taken on a very sad tone.
In the 2017 video with “Descendants” co-star Dove Cameron, the two stars answer questions about the weirdest rumors they’ve heard about themselves.
Boyce started off by saying he’s been romantically linked to a ton of other Disney Channel stars, but says he never hooked up with any of them.
He then begins laughing and says, “There was a rumor that I was dead.”
Dove chimes in … “Cam died I guess … good to know from Twitter.” Boyce said friends were texting wondering, “Cameron, you alive?” and Dove asked, “Cameron, would you die without telling us like that?”
The video seemed funny at the time, but now takes on a whole level of sadness as the joke has become a reality for the 20-year-old.
Since Boyce’s death, Dove has said, “no words . words will come later,” alongside a photo of the “Descendants” cast.
As we reported, Boyce’s family told investigators the star had a history of epileptic seizures.
His family believes he passed away on Saturday after suffering one of these seizures while sleeping.
An autopsy has been scheduled by the L.A. County Medical Examiner, and will most likely be completed early this week.
We’re told toxicology, including blood tests, will also be completed to determine an official cause of death.
Boyce and Dove are slated to appear in the upcoming “Descendants 3” that will premiere in November.
Boyce reprised his role as Carlos, the son of Cruella De Vil, while Dove plays Mal, the daughter of Maleficent.
