Britney Spears' Father Calls #FreeBritney Movement A 'Joke' & A 'Conspiracy Theory'

By Mike Walters

Britney Spears' father, Jaime Spears is upset with the allegations that he is controlling his daughter, both physically and financially, and is now calling the #FreeBritney movement a 'joke' and a 'conspiracy theory.'

The pop star's dad broke his silence on the massive resurgence of the #FreeBritney movement, in a rare interview, making it clear allegations he is keeping his famous daughter as a prisoner is a lie.

Jamie Spears called the group of Britney fans 'a joke' and said the allegations made by them is a 'conspiracy theory.'

“All these conspiracy theorists don’t know anything. The world don’t have a clue,” Spears told Page Six. He added, “It’s up to the court of California to decide what’s best for my daughter. It’s no one else’s business.”

In the interview, Jamie also denied skimming Britney's multi-million dollar fortune and reminded the public all expenses are filed and approved by the court.

“I have to report every nickel and dime spent to the court every year,” he said. “How the hell would I steal something?”

Britney's dad claims the situation with #FreeBritney has gotten so bad, he is now receiving death threats from its supporters.

“People are being stalked and targeted with death threats,” Spears told the outlet. Adding, “It’s horrible. We don’t want those kinds of fans."

As we reported, the #FreeBritney movement has had a huge resurgence in the past few months after several stars including Paris Hilton, Miley Cyrus, and Ariel Winter went public in support of the movement.

Plus, Britney's conservatorship is due back in court in the next few weeks after reports surfaced parts of her restrictions might be changed or altered in some way.

Interestingly, earlier this month, Britney's brother thanked the #FreeBritney movement and admitted the pop star has wanted out of the conservatorship for quite some time.

Fans Start A Petition Calling For The End Of Her Conservatorship

A petition was launched by members of the #FreeBritney movement which directly addresses allegations against the pop star's father and the conservatorship.

“Her father doesn’t allow her to drive, all of her calls & messages are monitored, she’s not allowed to vote, hang with anyone or spend her money without permission. And if she breaks a ‘rule’ he threatens to have her kids taken away,” it reads.

The petition now has over 103,000 signatures.

To be clear, Britney's conservatorship is a case within the Los Angeles County Court and all financial and medical information is monitored by a judge in the case. It has also been reported, Britney or her lawyer has yet to make a formal request to be released from the conservatorship.
