Britney Spears has Instagram worried. The 38-year-old singer’s Thursday Instagram update, seeing her in the usual backyard setting that’s already gotten her 25.9 million followers worried, now brings over 970 users liking a concerning comment wondering what is going on with the “Toxic” singer.
Britney, who was last photographed in public on July 25 as she was chauffeured in a Mercedes-Benz SUV in L.A. has only been suggesting that everything is ok with regular Instagram updates. But for the #FreeBritney movement, something is seriously amiss.
If you need a refresh, the repetitive updates first sparking concern in 2020 started with the “Circus” singer shot against a red wall. That switched to white, with the recent addition of yellow, plus Britney seemingly enjoying summer in the backyard of her L.A. mansion. The singer, who did not appear for her July 22 court date revisiting her 2008-commenced conservatorship, updated her account today with a low-key selfie showing off her face, plus the body henna she recently unveiled.
Britney used three rose emoji for her caption.
Britney, who has repeatedly been asked if she is “okay” this month and seemingly, bar a brief clap-back calling herself “authentic,” has been avoiding the question, now sees fans deeming her Instagram a setup. Britney’s finances and other aspects of her life have been controlled by her father for over a decade now.
Britney has largely stuck to the plain wall backdrops and tiny tan shorts that have repeatedly been seen in Instagram updates spanning summer 2020, but the singer has branched out. Just this week, she shared footage of herself enjoying rose soap in the bath. Britney also seemed very much alive as she jokingly poked boyfriend Sam Asghari yesterday – the personal trainer was having a little snooze with Spears joking she was “annoying as hell” as she disturbed him.
The comments, however, took a worrying turn today. Fans either seemed to be questioning the star’s safety, as has become the norm, started pointing fingers at dad Jamie Spears. “Hi Britney dad,” a popular comment read. More after the video.
Fortunately, the opinion fearing the worst came with some reason. One fan told the poster they were being “dramatic.”
Then again, others were not convinced. “This makes the most sense. then, those controlling her money still have access to it rather than it going to her kids,” one user wrote.
Britney has also been appearing in videos. July has seen the singer go Q&A style while revealing chili dogs to be her favorite food – and “Frozen” to be her favorite Disney movie – but with fans underwhelmed as Spears didn’t answer, to them, the most-asked question of “Are you ok?” the theories are exploding.
