The calls for Britney Spears to be freed from her conservatorship are growing and fans are planning to protest outside her upcoming court hearing.
In the past couple of weeks, #FreeBritney campaign has started to gain even more supporters who want the singer to be let out of her court-ordered conservatorship which prohibits her from living a real life.
The #FreeBritney movement has taken over social media with people sharing slides explaining the situation. Diet Prada, the influential fashion Instagram, posted the slides captioned, “This is heartbreaking ?Swipe to slide 5 for the shady details on Britney’s conservatorship, which is usually reserved for individuals who are incapacitated. I know some people’s instincts might be to not take this seriously or laugh because the world has made a joke of her existence to a certain extent, but this is a woman who is denied access to her own children, finances, and any control over her own life."
They continued, "The law is corrupt and so are the middle-aged men who are ruining a thriving, successful woman’s life. Britney has a court hearing coming up on July 22nd. Check our stories for a swipe up of actionable items you can do to help #FreeBritney."
The message read, “A little backstory, Britney was a child star starting at the age of 4 years old on Broadway, and then worked her way to the Mickey Mouse Club, and eventually the solo career we know today. Her Career has been on autopilot her entire life. If you look back at her music, she’s been telling everyone for years she’s too controlled and treated as a product.”
They added, “Everyone remembers the 2007 meltdown. Everyone. Leading up to the meltdown Britney was going thru a public divorce, had two children under the age of 2 at the time and was VERY much the focus of the publicl. We all saw her on every magazine cover. We all also saw the photo of her with one of her kids on her lap while driving. After the public meltdown, shaving her head, locking herself in her home with her children, speaking in a british accent on regular basis, wearing the infamous pink wig everywhere and shopping naked.??"
The #FreeBritney fans continued, “After the hospitalization, her father petitioned the courts to be a TEMPORARY conservator to her until she was mentally stable and for only one years time. 2 months after her hospitalization she did a guest appearance on “How I Met Your Mother”. 6 months after the hospitalization, she drops the Womanizer video and starts to promote her new album Circus with its worldwide tour that grossed $131.8 million. If she’s so unwell, why did she start working right away?”
The fans believe Britney needs to be let out of the 12-year conservatorship. Many point out there are few other people who have been placed under such a conservatorship for so long. Britney’s fan accuse her father and team of racking in millions off the singer over the years.
A hearing has been scheduled for July 23, where the #FreeBritney supporters will be protesting outside the courthouse.
