The speculation over who Brad Pitt is or isn’t dating seems to be constant in the celebrity news cycle, and during the Golden Globes the actor took the opportunity to crack a joke about it.
He won the award for best supporting actor in a drama motion picture for his work in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. During his acceptance speech, he joked about why he didn’t bring his mother to the ceremony.
“I wanted to bring my mom, but I couldn’t, because anyone I stand next to they say I’m dating. It’d just be awkward,” he joked.
The camera then quickly cut to his ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, who appeared to be chuckling at the joke.

The two are still on good terms since their divorce in 2015, something that was obvious to many viewers.
“jennifer aniston looking at brad pitt during his speech shows you how pure she is. they are truly still in good terms and it makes my heart feel so full and tabloids make it seem like them looking at each other is a hate crime,” one wrote.
“Jennifer Aniston watching her ex husband Brad Pitt winning a golden globe with happiness,” another said.
Many were just focused on how close Pitt and Aniston were to each other during the show.
“I’m gonna need the cameras to provide a wide shot of the room so I can see how far apart Jen Aniston and Brad Pitt are from each other,” one person joked. “I just need to see it. That’s all.”

This was the first Golden Globes that both have attending since their separation, a fact that everyone was keyed in on.
Before the show, Entertainment Tonight asked Pitt about seeing Aniston. “I’ll run into Jen, she’s a good friend. Yeah,” he said.
“The second most important reunion of her year? I understand,” he joked, clarifying, “That was a play on Friends. They were saying that.”
