Angelina Jolie has just revealed that two of her and Brad Pitt's daughters have been hospitalized in the last few days after two unrelated ailments forced them to go under the knife. The actress says she has been in and out of the hospital for the last two months dealing with medical emergencies.

The hospitalization was explained in a new essay Jolie wrote for Time Magazine, where she detailed her personal experiences on this International Woman's Day. Hers was spent at her daughters' bedside.

"I have spent the last two months in and out of surgeries with my eldest daughter (15-year-old Zahara), and days ago watched her younger sister go under the knife for a hip surgery," she explained.

She continued, "They know that I am writing this, because I respect their privacy and we discussed it together and they encouraged me to write. They understand that going through medical challenges and fighting to survive and heal is something to be proud of."

Angelina does not reveal what type of surgery Zahara is recovering from nor does she detail what issue she has been dealing with that landed her in and out of the hospital for months. Jolie also did not reveal which of the couple's younger daughter had hip issues.

"I have watched my daughters care for one another. My youngest daughter studied the nurses with her sister, and then assisted the next time," Jolie said. Adding, "I saw how all my girls so easily stopped everything and put each other first, and felt the joy of being of service to those they love. I also watched them face their fears with a resolute bravery. We all know that moment when no one else can help us, and all we can do is close our eyes and breathe. When only we can take the next step or breathe through the pain, so we steady ourselves and do it."

The 'Maleficent" actress expressed how proud she is of her sons who were there for their sisters, and explained how supportive they were during this difficult time.

"Their brothers were there for them, supportive and sweet. But on this International Women’s Day, writing from the hospital, I find myself focusing on my daughters for a moment, and all that I have learned from them and other young girls I have met around the world," she explained.

As we reported, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's custody case has had some movement in the L. A County Courts. Last week, part of their child custody evaluation was filed with the court, but under seal. The ex-couple is asking the court to keep the information private.

It's unclear if Brad and Angelina have spent time or been together to support their daughter's while in the hospital.
