Bill Cosby Says AIG Is 'Robbing' Chance to Clear Name After Janice Dickinson Settlement

Bill Cosby is furious that his insurance company settled the ongoing defamation lawsuit with Janice Dickinson and strongly believes he would have prevailed had the case be heard in court.

Cosby's spokesperson, Andrew Wyatt, tells The Blast, "To be clear, AIG’s settlement of this lawsuit has no bearing whatsoever on the merit of Ms. Dickinson’s claims."

We're told Cosby's legal team was informed that AIG agreed to settle the case with Dickinson where she had accused the disgraced comedian of defamation after Cosby's former attorney had claimed her sexual assault accusations were untrue.

Wyatt tells us, "Mr. Cosby has every confidence that, had the case proceeded to trial, a jury would have found that the statements issued by his former attorney—statements which Mr. Cosby himself never spoke and which he played no part in preparing—were not defamatory."

AIG had recently settled lawsuits with other accusers, including Playboy model Chloe Goins.

After AIG settled with Goins, Cosby, who is still serving time in a Pennsylvania prison, issued a statement urging people to drop their policies with the insurance company.

"It was proven by the Los Angeles Police Department that I was not at the Playboy Mansion on the date in question, and was not in the State of California." He adds, "AIG continues to act egregiously by settling these heinous claims without my knowledge and/or consent; and AIG continues to show they’re complicit in this scheme to destroy me and my family. I encourage all of AIG’s policyholders to drop this pathetic insurance company quickly, before they destroy you and your family."
