Bill Cosby is celebrating his 82nd birthday today, and while the disgraced comedian is locked away for his big day, he is hoping his birthday wish will be honored.

"Thank you to all of my friends, supporters and family members for wishing me a Happy 82nd Birthday," Cosby said in a statement written on his social media channels.

He continues that, as his birthday approached while serving time behind bars, Many of my fellow residents [SCI Phoenix] asked, 'Mr. Cosby - is there anything special you would like for your birthday?'"

Cosby explained, "I politely replied that the greatest present for me is:" as he referenced a bible passage from 1 Corinthians 13:11.

"When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things."

Cosby's birthday message is, "To all men... it’s time to be Great Fathers, Great American Citizens & Great Husbands."

He added, "Man Up & Become Men Of Valor."

As we reported, Cosby has been mentoring inmates while serving 3 -10 years for his sexual assault conviction.

We're told the comedian holds 15 "Man Up" mentoring sessions each month, and is schooling the convicts on ways to thrive outside of prison while becoming responsible fathers, sons, brothers and uncles.

He also encourages them to attend classes and receive an education or learn a trade to be able to get a job once they are released.

Interestingly, Cosby's birthday message was met with just as many supporters as trolls, as many left messages wishing the incarcerated star a happy birthday and voiced their support.

"We still riding for you Dr. Cosby," one Twitter user wrote.

Another stated, "We salute you Dr. Cosby -Happy Birthday!"

Still, he didn't escape completely unscathed, as the shady birthday wishes are also filling his timeline with messages like, "Happy Birthday to the comedian that chose not to follow the course of least resistance."

It's unclear if Cosby will get any extra dessert, or perhaps some Jell-O pudding, to celebrate the big day.
