Daniel Wright, who once competed on "The Biggest Loser" and became a fan favorite, died over the weekend after a battle with cancer.

Wright died Sunday morning from complications associated to leukemia. He was first diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2017 and gone through treatment, but had a severe relapse last year and experienced a major decline in health.

Wright was married to another "Biggest Loser" contestant, Rebecca, who would regularly give updates on his health. On May 24 she gave an update on Facebook, explaining that he was throwing up blood and doctors were trying to find out if he was bleeding internally.

The winner of Wright's season, Danny Cahill, eulogized his friend after learning of his passing: "He never missed a chance to double back and encourage every soul in the fight of their lives to keep going, and ensure us we would make it. He gave me so many gifts, not only there, but in years after."
