Beyoncé tried to jump into the political arena by showing support for a candidate in a big senate race, but fans are calling her out for getting involved as the polls were closing.
On Tuesday afternoon, Queen Bey, who is from Texas, posted multiple images to her millions of fans while wearing a hat for Democratic senate candidate Beto O'Rourke.
The problem with her timing was the voting was already in full swing and the polls were nearly closed in Texas. With the race between O'Rourke and incumbent senator Ted Cruz being so close, many fans began ripping the singer for appearing to get involved when it was too late.
"Yeah... should have spoke sooner. Too little too late," one person wrote. While another commented that, "it's like she had to schedule a photo shoot first to get involved."
After Ted Cruz won reelection with 50.9% of the votes, people really began going in on Bey, with people writing nasty comments like, "I really thought Beyoncé was showin us how to flex in Texas but you flexin madd late, now you got lying Ted."
Beyoncé and celebs like Diddy and Tyrese are being criticized heavily after the high-profile candidates they were endorsing lost, and some are claiming voters have had enough of Hollywood influence.
One "fan" of Bey echoed those feelings, by commenting on her page, "I'm so glad Cruz won. Didn't need any of Hollywood's 'elite.'"
