Bethenny Frankel's Feud With 'RHONY' Cast Heats Up, Producers Leak Information

By Ryan Naumann

Former “Real Housewives of New York” star Bethenny Frankel reportedly “threw a fit” after hearing a producer say they didn’t need her on the show.

According to Page Six, the public battle between Bethenny and her former costars/producers continues to heat up.

Frankel has been throwing subtle shade at “RHONY” in the past couple of weeks. She decided to leave the show back in August. During press for this season, her costars made negative comments about her leaving the show.

On the premiere episode of “RHONY”, which aired earlier this month, the opening scene included the case talking about Frankel’s exit. Frankel didn’t appreciate the way her former costars portrayed her in the opener.

After the episode, Frankel said she felt insulted by the way her cast members spoke about her. She said, “The beginning of the show was the proverbial middle finger to me. The women have definitely had some unpleasant things to say about me … I wish them well.”

She called out their ratings saying, “The ratings overall in television have never been higher and perhaps the ratings on ‘Real Housewives’ aren’t doing well because it’s sort of not maybe the content that is inspiring people to do what they need to do right now. Or maybe they want to watch the news or something uplifting or some way to pay it forward.”

Sources told Page Six, the “RHONY” cast and executives were furious with Frankel’s comments. One source said, “As much as Bethenny pretends to be a producer, creator, mogul and even philanthropist, she will always be a ‘Real Housewife’ and reality star. She was a no-one before ‘RHONY’ — why would someone be so desperate as to bash the franchise that built her brand? Andy [Cohen] is livid!”

In the new article, Page Six claims Frankel threw a fit during BravoCon in November. She caught wind of longtime producer Barrie Bernstein saying Frankel wasn’t needed for “RHONY” during a panel discussion.

He said, “Bethenny of course is Bethenny. We did three seasons without her in the middle, it was successful, a lot of fun, some of the best trips. And the ladies, they’ve done this for a while, and they don’t need Bethenny. I think this season we’re really excited to shine that.” Frankel reportedly blocked Bernstein from her phone after hearing about the remarks.

Back in August, Frankel announced she was leaving “Real Housewives of New York” for a second time. Frankel starred on “RHONY” from season 1 until season 3. She would leave and return for season 7 until season 11. During the time, Frankel launched her mega-successful business, Skinnygirl, which has grown into quite the empire.

The reality star told fans when she announced her depature, “I wanted to take a moment to write a personal note to you. I am so grateful to you for sticking with me through everything. You started this journey with me in my tiny apartment in my late 30s, wondering what would happen to me. I was broke, single, had no family and no idea what the future held. I had big dreams and I never stopped, but I honestly didn’t know if I would ever get here.

You helped me to get here. I would read your letters and messages and grow from your struggles. You would give me your honest opinion about my products and projects and helpful advice about divorce, relationships, motherhood, miscarriages, health, and surviving the death of a loved one and almost my own. You have shared your ideas with me and I have been inspired by and learned from you.”

Amid the drama, Frankel has been doing good for the world with her BStrong charity. She has donated over 250,000 N95 masks to New York hospitals. Frankel said BStrong has, “distributed over $16 million worth of aid this week and that will grow exponentially.”

Frankel recently announced casting for her new reality show.
