Another one bites the dust! Bravo has fired “Below Deck Mediterranean” star Peter Hunziker after a past racist post was exposed. He’s just the latest personality the network has taken action against following a string of firings including “Vanderpump Rules” stars Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens, and Brett Caprioni. Bravo made the announcement on Wednesday, June 17, just one week after canning the other four stars. Taking to social media with their statement, they informed viewers that “Peter Hunziker of Below Deck Mediterranean has been terminated for his racist post.”
Peter Hunziker, who currently stars as a deckhand on season five of the series, will be edited out of the remaining episodes. “Bravo and 51 Minds are editing the show to minimize his appearance for subsequent episodes,” the statement continued. “Below Deck Mediterranean” began airing episodes on June 1 and while they’ve shot every scene, post-production will take appropriate measures to make sure there’s no sign of Peter Hunziker in the remainder of the show. His firing comes on the heels of the “Vanderpump Rules” scandal.
As The Blast reported, Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute were fired from the network after a racially-charged incident against their former “Vanderpump Rules” co-star Faith Stowers was brought to light. The girls called the cops on Stowers in 2018 claiming that she looked like another black woman who was wanted for robbery. While the duo apologized for their actions, Bravo released them from their duties after eight seasons on the hit show. On Tuesday, fans began trolling Stassi and Kristen after they appeared on their very last reunion with the cast.
Bravo viewers aren’t just coming for Stassi and Kristen. They want Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright, and Lala Kent axed from the hit show too. It’s not just “Vanderpump Rules” cast members that deserve to be fired, according to fans. They are also demanding the network take action against “Real Housewives of Orange County” star Kelly Dodd for her comments about not liking black men and her insensitivity towards Coronavirus and the death of George Floyd. At this moment, Bravo has not addressed any other stars who could be on the chopping block.
