'Basketball Wives' star Kimberli Peters-Russell has filed for divorce from her former NBA star husband, Bryon Russell, after over 25 years of marriage.

According to legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Kimberlie filed to end the couple's lengthy marriage on August 24, 2020, in Los Angeles County Court.

The ex-couple was featured on Season 2 of the hit VH1 reality show, and famously had one of their wedding anniversaries featured on an episode.

According to reports, Bryon and Kim were married in 1994 and share three children together.

Kimberli Russell was featured heavily on the reality show, and is also a fitness coach, philanthropist, and is a member of WOVA, Women of Vision Alliance, which is a non-profit organization for women.

But, if you aren't a huge sports fan, Bryon was a big NBA star from 1993-2006. Russell was a key member of the Utah Jazz helping them reach back-to-back NBA finals in the late 1990s. Unfortunately, he is also well known for guarding Michael Jordan at the end of game 6 of the NBA Finals where Jordan stepped back and made the game-winning shot.

In an interview about the couple's lengthy marriage, Kimberli detailed life with Bryon following his retirement from the NBA.

“I had children right away when we got married. I didn’t want to leave them at home. I wanted to raise my own kids. I didn’t want nannies everywhere. I was totally fine with that. But now, it’s not enough. They’ve gotten older. Bryon has slowed down. So, it’s my time. Bryon encouraged me to do whatever I wanted," she told news4usonline.com.

It's unclear if there are any issues with the couple, or they just simply grew apart. But, at this point, Bryon has not responded to the divorce filing.
