Singer August Alsina says he had a four-year love affair with Jada-Pinkett Smith and Will Smith allegedly gave him his blessing.

The singer sat down with “The Breakfast Club” co-host Anglea Yee for a wide-ranging interview. During the chat, Angela asked August about his music video for his 2019 song “Nunya (Remix)”. The video featured many references to Jada and people to believe they had a love affair.

Angela asked August what the real story was between the two. He said, “here’s what I’ll say. People can have whatever ideas they like but what I’m not okay with is my character being in question. Certain things that I know is not me or that I know I haven’t done.”

He appears to be alluding to having issues with people who didn’t believe he was with Jada.

August continued, “Contrary to what some people may believe, I’m not a troublemaker, I don’t like drama. I also don’t think it’s ever important for people to know what I do, who I sleep with, who I date but in this instance it’s very different. Because there is so many people side-eyeing me, looking at me questionable about it. I mean, I’ve lost money, friendships, relationship behind it. I think it’s because people don’t necessarily know the truth. But I’ve never done anything wrong. I love those people. Literally, like my family. They are beautiful people.

He continued, “when something starts effecting my life, and not only effecting my life but effecting my wellness and well being and starts to block my heart space, I don’t really have a choice but to express my truth.

August said, “I actually sat down with Will and had a conversation, due to the transformation from their marriage to life partnership that they’ve spoken on several times, not involving romanticism, he gave me his blessing. I totally gave myself to that relationship for years of my life. I truly and really, really deeply loved and have a ton of love for her.”

I devoted myself to it, I gave my full self to it, so much so that I can die right now and be okay with knowing I truly gave myself to someone. I really love the person I experienced that with. Some people never get that in a lifetime.

August claims he had to speak up for his truth and refused to speak about Jada’s past denials of their relationship. Page Six reports a rep for Jada called August's claims, "absolutely not true."
