CNN political and news correspondent Anderson Cooper will inherit much of the inheritance from his late mother, Gloria Vanderbilt, while her estranged son, Chris Stokowski, will apparently receive much, much less.
Stokowski will receive Vanderbilt’s Beekman Place co-op, while Cooper gets just about everything else in the estate.
Fashion icon, artist, author and heiress Vanderbilt died June 17 after a battle with stomach cancer. She was 95.
Vanderbilt was the great-great-great-granddaughter of Cornelius Vanderbilt, who lived from 1794 to 1877. Cornelius Vanderbilt earned his tremendous wealth through the railroad industry — a big deal at the time.
Fox says Vanderbilt’s fortune has been estimated at about $200 million.
While Gloria Vanderbilt launched lines based around perfume, fashion and household goods, she may be best known for her forays into the early designer blue-jean business.
Her name was embroidered on the back pocket of those jeans, which at its height signified a pinnacle of style.
