Amy Schumer and Chris Fischer are celebrating their new bundle of joy, but the name they have given their son is raising some hard questions among fans.

Schumer announced the name of her son Tuesday night alongside a picture of the baby resting on daddy's shoulder. "Gene Attell Fischer And his dad Chris," the comedian wrote. He was born Sunday night, hours before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed baby Archie.

Attell is obviously a shout out to Schumer's longtime mentor and friend, comedian Dave Attell ... however it's unclear what Gene is a reference to.

Tons of stars immediately commented on how adorable the baby is, including Glenn Close, Andy Cohen and Cindy Crawford, who said, "Better than the Met Ball! Congrats!"

However, some fans on Schumer's feed began questioning whether the comedian was pranking everyone with a name that kinda sounds like an injury to a very sensitive area on the human body.

"It sounds like genital fissure," one follower noted, while another wrote, "Uh, am I the only one who thinks Gene-attell is going to be turned into Genital??"

Schumer has not responded to any of the criticism, or revealed if the name was just a creative way to yank the public's ... you get the point.
