'Little People, Big World' Star Amy Roloff's Mother Passes Away

"Little People, Big World" star Amy Roloff's mother has passed away just one week after her daughter's engagement.

Patricia Knight passed away on Tuesday, September 24 in Michigan, she was 86. The family will receive friends to honor her memory on October 24 at a local funeral home, according to the obituary.


Amy shared a photo to Instagram of her grand kids with the caption, "It’s been a tough week after hearing sad news. But these two - my grand kids Jackson and Ember - always make me smile and melt my heart."

Although the post mentions it being a "tough week" filled with "sad news," The TLC star was not specific to what troubled her over the past week but it makes sense that she has been struggling with the loss of her mother.

Over the last few months, Amy has been very open about her mom's health and posted several times about how "every moment is precious" with them.

In June, she told fans she had to make an unplanned trip home to Michigan from South Dakota to visit with her parents.

"My mom isn’t doing so well and I need to see them," Amy said. "Like the old days I’m going to make dinner for them. This Michigan girl is coming home."

She Just Got Engaged

Just days before, she shared the very exciting news that she just got engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Chris Marek.

She posted several happy shots along with the announcement.

"I wanted to share again A beautiful event that happened in my life. I never had a clue or expected it," Roloff wrote. "Chris and I celebrated our 3rd year anniversary of dating last Wednesday. And to my wonderful happy surprise he proposed and asked me to marry him!
