Amanda Bynes and her fiancé, Paul, posed lovingly together while the actress got real with fans about the state of her sobriety. In a video shared by Bynes on Instagram, the troubled star claims she's been clean for more than one year and it sounds like her life is on track after revealing she said "yes" to Paul's proposal nearly one week ago. The 33-year-old sported a serious face while giving her followers an update on her current status.
Letting her fiancé hold the camera high, the newly engaged actress addressed her 284k followers on Thursday night. "Hey, everyone! This is my fiancé. I'm so lucky! As you can see, he is drop-dead gorgeous and he's also the best person on the face of the earth," Amanda Bynes said. Turning the clock back to her troubling days on Twitter, which occurred years ago, the "What a Girl Wants" star took time out to apologize to anyone she hurt with her powerful words.
With her new heart face tattoo, Amanda Bynes continued, "I just wanted to post a video to say, 'I'm sorry to everyone whom I called ugly on Twitter.'" She also gave a reason for why she lashed out at fans, pointing the finger at her drug use. "I was feeling so ugly at the time and it was really hard for me to express myself because I was so drugged out." Proudly announcing to fans that she and her fiancé have "remained sober for over a year," Amanda Bynes signed off her video by telling her fans how much she appreciates their support.
"I just want to let you know that I love you guys and I'm so happy now. I feel like I got what's mine and that is Paul," she stated. The Blast first revealed the identity of her fiancé after she surprised everyone by announcing their engagement with an Instagram post. We confirmed with sources that the engagement is real and her family already knows about it. We're told that Paul is younger than his soon-to-be bride and is in his 20s. The duo actually met about two or three months ago in AA classes. Amanda Bynes' fiancé is currently in school and his family has ties in the TV industry.
The only problem with Amanda Bynes' engagement is she technically can't marry unless a judge signs off on the nuptials. Like Britney Spears, the actress is currently under a conservatorship and any major life decisions have to be cleared with her parents, as well as a judge. We're told Amanda Bynes' family hopes her engagement with Paul will be a positive influence on her life. In December, the star bailed on her sober living facility and dropped out of school. Her parents rushed back to court at the time asking the judge to help them get Amanda Bynes' life back on track. Hopefully, this engagement is a step in the right direction.
