Back in 2013, Amanda Bynes began behaving incredibly erratically in real life due to childhood trauma, mental illness, and drug use. Her most infamous online escapade was when she tweeted “I want @drake to murder my vagina,” and then called a ton of celebrities on Twitter ugly.
Eventually, Bynes was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, was arrested a number of times, and was eventually placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold. Eventually she went to fashion school and was placed under her mother’s conservatorship. In 2018, she claimed to be four years sober, but she relapsed in 2019 and was once again placed under her mother’s conservatorship.
“I just wanted to post a video to say I’m sorry to everyone whom I called ugly on Twitter. I was feeling so ugly at the time and it was really hard for me to express myself at the time because I was so drugged out. Now, I’ve remained sober for over a year—same with Paul—and I just want to let you all know I love you guys and I’m so happy now. I feel like I got what’s mine and that’s Paul.”
Amanda Bynes is talking about Drake on social media again, but luckily this time it wasn’t NSFW. She posted a screenshot from his Instagram with the caption:
“Fav songs out now: DRAKE 1. Money in the grave 2. Yes Indeed. RODDY RICCH 1. Ballin 2. High Fashion.”
However, she probably realized that posting about Drake on social media again was only going to bring negative attention, so she eventually deleted the post. People still noticed though, and couldn’t help but remember the old tweet that she now regrets.

With her tentative sobriety and new engagement, people are wondering about Bynes’ mental health these days. She said back in 2018 in an interview with Paper Magazine:
“I think that’s kind of how I go about [life] now—like, what’s there to lose? I have no fear of the future. I’ve been through the worst and came out the other end and survived it so I just feel like it’s only up from here.”
We hope that’s the case for her today.
