"AGT" judge Simon Cowell gushed over Kodi's performance and remarked that the author of the song, Paul Simon, rarely allows shows and other productions use of that particular song, because it means so much to the 77-year-old star.

Cowell said once Paul Simon heard Kodi’s story and listened to his music, he signed off on the performance without hesitation.

During his backstory, where it was revealed that Kodi is blind and autistic, his mother noted that music changed her son's life when he immersed himself in performing.

"I realized he's an entertainer," she said, explaining that, "Through music and performing, he was able to withstand living in this world because when you're autistic, it's really hard to do what everybody else does. It actually has saved his life playing music."
