"A Star Is Born" screenwriter Eric Roth won't be celebrating the film's opening weekend with his wife because she just filed for divorce.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Debra Greenfield filed the documents on Tuesday in Los Angeles Superior Court. The couple was married in 1987 and Greenfield lists the date of separation as last month.

The couple has five adult children together, including documentarian Vanessa Roth.

Greenfield is asking the court to award her spousal support and have Roth pay her legal fees.

In addition to his work on "A Star Is Born," Roth has written such classic films as "Forrest Gump," "The Horse Whisperer," "The Insider," "Ali," "Munich," and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."
