Prosecutor Asks for Six-Month Jail Sentence for A$AP Rocky

By Daniel Goldblatt

Swedish prosecutors are asking for A$AP Rocky to serve six months behind bars for his role in a June brawl that took place in Stockholm.

In his closing argument, Daniel Suneson argued that A$AP should be sentenced harsher than the other defendants. Suneson said, "I don't think anything other than jail is possible."

He also believed, during the course of the three-day trial, that he disproved A$AP's assertion that he acted in self-defense.

"It cannot have been self-defense," he argued, "as they were five against two."

A ruling is expected next week and there is a possibility A$AP will be released from custody.

The victim's attorney reiterated his claim his client should receive SEK 140,000 in damages, or about $14,500.

Earlier on Friday, a woman testified that she did not actually see A$AP Rocky hit the alleged victim with a bottle, which differs from the account she initially told police.

The woman — who testified anonymously via video link — said she was eating with a friend when she spotted A$AP and his entourage outside. She said she and her friend rushed outside to get a photo with him but by that point, the fight with the alleged victim had already begun.

The woman testified that she heard a bottle being broken but could not say whether A$AP or anyone from his group threw it on the ground or hit the alleged victim with it. She also testified that she did not see A$AP holding the bottle during the fight.

The friend of the woman also testified that she did not see anyone hitting the alleged victim with a bottle.

According to the Associated Press, the first woman told the court, "Everything happened very quickly. We were scared for our lives.”

She said of the alleged victim, "He was bleeding. He showed his injuries on his hand. He also said he had a sore back."
