A Feud Reignited

In 2016, the longstanding feud between Kanye West and Taylor Swift reignited when West released his song "Famous," which included the line "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? / I made that b–tch famous."

At the time, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West released clips of a phone conversation where Kanye seemingly asks Swift for permission to use that lyric. Swift denied it and was branded a liar.

However, the full phone conversation was leaked, and while Kim is seemingly unbothered, it does appear to vindicate Taylor.

In the unedited call, Kanye tells Taylor that the line is "I feel like Taylor Swift might owe me sex," to which Swift replies, "That's not mean. I'm glad it's not mean though...but like oh my God, the build-up you gave it, I thought it was gonna be like, 'That stupid, dumb b-tch. But it's not."

Kanye then asks "OK, now what if later in the song I was also to have said, uh...'I made her famous'?" Swift clearly isn't thrilled about it, but she says:

"It's just kind of like, whatever, at this point," she replied. "But I mean, you've got to tell the story the way that it happened to you and the way that you've experienced it. Like, you honestly didn't know who I was before that. Like, it doesn't matter if I sold 7 million of that album before you did that, which is what happened. You didn't know who I was before that. It's fine. But, um, yeah. I can't wait to hear it."

Swift has always maintained that her issue with the song was being called a b-tch, and this new footage proves that that particular lyric wasn't approved.

Taylor Responds On Instagram

Kanye and Kim haven't responded to the new information (outside of liking a shady tweet), but Taylor took the time to briefly address it on her Instagram stories before refocusing on the real struggles that people are facing with the spread of coronavirus.

"Instead of answering those who are asking how I feel about the video footage that leaked, proving that I was telling the truth the whole time about that call. You know, the one that was illegally recorded, that somebody edited and manipulated in order to frame me and put me, my family, and fans through hell for 4 years… SWIPE UP to see what really matters."

Swift continued in a second post, saying:

"The World Health Organization and Feeding America are some of the organizations I’ve been donating to. If you have the ability to, please join me in donating during this crisis."

She included a link to the WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund.

A source told US Weekly:

"Taylor feels vindicated that the full audio clip was leaked, and everyone could hear how the conversation between her and Kanye really went down. Her friends, fans and colleagues in the industry support her even more now, which she is grateful for."

So, it might be time to retire those snake emojis.
