An incident with a Nutcracker balloon was caught on video during the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade on Thursday; luckily no one was hurt.

The video shows the Nutcracker balloon already prone as he marched down the street, led by its handlers. It's clear to see that they're having a hard time maintaining control of the giant balloon.

You can hear the crowd reacting as handlers struggle to keep the colorful bag of air on the straight and narrow. It must not be easy to control these things.

But as one handler rushed over to help, the top part of the Nutcracker pushed her down to the ground, and it looked pretty painful. She got back up almost immediately after, though, and kept on going down the street.

A Bit Of an Emergency For Ronald

The Nutcracker balloon fared much better than the Ronald McDonald balloon, which suffered a mangled leg as it went down the street. Poor guy.

Flying On the Down Low

Parade planners did keep the balloons flying lower during the parade due to unusually high winds. There had been speculation on Wednesday that the balloons might not fly, but they decided to go ahead as the winds weren't high enough to pose a danger to the balloons or people. It's unclear whether the incidents on the parade route this year will affect next year's rules.
