Gwyneth Paltrow's lifestyle brand Goop unveiled an insane new item for their winter online store: a candle that smells like her vagina. . The candle has a "is a "funny, gorgeous, sexy, and beautifully unexpected scent", with "geranium, citrusy bergamot, and cedar absolutes juxtaposed with Damask rose and ambrette seed," and Twitter had many, many jokes about this new product, including Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

People made jokes, but the candle sold out immediately when it was available for purchase (for $75), so Paltrow definitely got the last laugh with this one.

Her Actual Inspiration

Paltrow stopped by Late Night With Seth Meyers to promote her new Netflix show and to address the mythos of this candle, and she explained the origin. While she was collaborating with her Goop perfumer, she was inspired by "this beautiful thing' and claimed that this particular scent smelled like her nether regions.

She admitted to Meyers "I was kidding, obviously" and quipped that they "weren't on mushrooms," but she actually had a pretty awesome reasoning behind the name and even called the choice "a little punk rock."

"I think women, a lot of us have grown up feeling certain degrees of shame around our body or whatever... So this is just a little bit of, you know, a subversive candle for all of us out there."

All of us who are willing to spend $75 on a candle, anyway.

Her New Show

Paltrow is pushing Goop extra hard lately because her new Netflix show The Goop Lab drops on January 24th. The show features "doctors, researchers, alternative health practitioners, and other experts in mental, physical, spiritual and sexual health" and Paltrow serves as co-host.

Goop chief content officer Elise Loehnen claims in the trailer: "What we try to do at Goop is explore ideas that may seem out there or too scary."

Gwyneth follows up saying "re you guys ready to go out in the field and make a ruckus?"

GOOP Controversy

Goop has faced its fair share of controversy over the years, including some pretty serious shade from Paltrow's lifestyle rival, Martha Stewart. When asked about the vagina candle on Watch What Happens Live, Stewart was incredibly annoyed and blamed the candles success on "horny guys" buying them.

"I’m sure it sold out...She does that kind of irritating … she’s trying to zhush up the public to listen to her. And that’s great, I mean, let her do her thing."

Yes, even professionally classy people can throw some shade.
