Colin Kaepernick is still being blacklisted by the NFL, not playing for a team since 2016. After protesting police brutality by kneeling during the National Anthem, Kaepernick has been treated like persona non grata by NFL leaders.

2. Kaepernick's Foundation

Despite not being signed to a team, Kaepernick has continued to use the money that he earned while playing for the San Francisco 49ers for six years to do good in the Bay Area. With his foundation Know Your Rights Camp, Kaepernick is devoted to meeting the needs of his community.

3. Celebrating His 32nd Birthday

Kaepernick recently turned 32, and instead of partying on his birthday, he spent the day with his girlfriend Nessa handing out backpacks full of socks, air quality masks, and basic necessities to people living in Tent City in Oakland.

With Know Your Rights Camp, Kaepernick also brought a food truck to Tent City and gave out free food that he had paid for ahead of time.

4. A Birthday Tradition

This isn't the first time that Kaepernick has spent his birthday giving back to the community. Know Your Rights Camp posted a throwback video of Kaepernick doing similar good back in 2016.

"A quick flashback to KYRC Oakland back in October 2016! Happy birthday to the man behind the vision that started Know Your Rights Camp! The work you do in communities all over will NEVER go unnoticed. Thank you for your selflessness, your love for the people, and for using your platforms to be a voice! WE LOVE YOU!! #IMWITHKAP #FOREVER #KYRCOakland"
