R&B and Hip-Hop Reign Supreme in Grammy Nominations

By TheBlast Staff

The nominees for the 2018 Grammy Awards were announced today and they marked a big shift in the music industry.

Hip-hop and R&B artists dominated all the major categories and there was a huge influx of nominees of color, a noticeable change in the award show circuit which is usually criticised for being #SoWhite.

Ed Sheeran fans are PO'ed over the Brit's snub -- he got a few noms but not in the big categories.

Cardi B received her very first nomination in the rap category and Chris Cornell and Leonard Cohen both received posthumous nominations in the best rock performance category.
