Busy Philipps, Jon Cryer and Other Celebs Donate To Waffle House Hero

By TheBlast Staff

The man being hailed as a hero for bringing an end to the deadly shooting at a Tennessee Waffle House is getting rewarded for his actions by some big celebrities and raking in thousands of dollars.

After the coverage James Shaw Jr. received for wrestling an AR-15 away from shooter Travis Reinking, reporter Yashar Ali created a GoFundMe for the hero Monday night, and in less than 12 hours the fund has racked up over $54,000.

Among the donations, Busy Philipps gave $1,000, along with former "Sex and the City" star Kristin Davis and "Two and a Half Men" star Jon Cryer who both donated $500.

The donation page says the money can be used as a college fund for Shaw's daughter, or just a nice family vacation.

Shaw has been extremely modest throughout the media coverage following the tragedy, and claims his reason for stopping the shooting was just to save himself.
