The man responsible for bringing brothels mainstream has died.
Emergency responders raced to Dennis Hof's Love Ranch South brothel Tuesday morning after receiving a call for a non-responsive male. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and at this time it doesn't appear foul play is suspected. Police are currently investigating to determine a cause of death.
It's unclear if 72-year-old Hof was dealing with any health issues, but on Monday his campaign manager posted a photo of Hof with retired sheriff Joe Arpaio and porn star Ron Jeremy.
Hof was running for office in the Nevada State Assembly, and was on the ballot for this November's election.
Hof was best known for HBO's "Cathouse," which chronicled the lives of his many prostitutes working at his legal brothel, the Moonlite Bunny Ranch.
